I am working on writing my first book. I have always loved reading and writing fantasy fiction. It was my escape duing my acward years of high school. During those years I wrote a story about the people around me, Brandon my crush, Camille my enemy, and many others that changed during the period of four years. When a friend was close I would make them the hero, but if that friendship changed, I would kill them off in my story,
for example.
Brandon Hood was on a quest to save the fair Maid Melissa, (hehehe) and his best man little Peter was by his side, Sam was a wish i wash i friend. So I would kill him off and bring him back to life. poor Brandon hood didn't know what to expect. and poor Maid Melissa was trapped in a tower, in an enchanted sleep. I never finished the story, but as I changed so did the story.
Years later my mother sent me a package of all my diverse writings. She said she had always thought I would really enjoy writing and publishing books, as I watch my children grow and change, I realize I need something to leave them.
I had always wanted to change the world, even in just a simple way. If I could publish even one book, I would have fullfilled my purpose. I would have created a legacy, something that would live on long after I had left. so this book is my first real effort to fullfill my dream. I only hope it is just the first of many books.
Thanks,
Melissa N.

Happy as clams!

A couple in Florida enjoying a plate of steamed clams made an unusual discovery: a rare purple pearl.
George and Leslie Brock stopped into Dave's Last Resort & Raw Bar during a recent day at the beach. George Brock was about halfway through a dozen clams when he chomped down on something hard - a rare iridescent purple pearl.
At least one expert said the find could be worth thousands of dollars.
``Few are round and few are a lovely colour, so this is rare,'' Vermont gemologist Antoinette Matlins told The Palm Beach Post. ``I think they have found something precious and lovely and valuable.''
The couple plan to have the pearl appraised and said they will sell it if it is worth a lot of money.
